Honest Parenting
==================================

Which road do I have to take to rear a good child?

Proper parenting skills are a major requirement in this lifelong child rearing preparation process and you have to be sure that you are equipped with good parenting skills. All throughout the parenting process, you'll find yourself thinking and even daydreaming about things like wonderful times you will spend with your child, but you have to put that one on hold just for now.

The process of being a new parent.

Being a parent is a life long experience.

Here are the processes that you should know to become skilled in parenting.

- You will learn good parenting skills when you allow your child to win sometimes and make sure that he/she loses as well in some battles that they face. There will be times when you will disapprove of your child's actions and attitude, but remember you do not want to traumatize your child in the process. Remember that too much criticism is not going to do you any good in in your parent and child relationships.

Parenting is a never-ending job.

A younger child needs lots of attention as well as proper guidance as they are growing up. Any money that this world can offer cannot buy a child's laughter, kisses and meaningful hugs. There is a time where the fine line of parenting is nothing but wide, smooth and straight, that is when you know exactly what to do. A child has to be taught how to take on responsibilities for all and any actions that they perform and they should be responsible for whatever consequences (from doing bad decisions) that lies ahead them.

Teach your kids self-reliance

Upon learning to take on responsibility, your child will be self-sufficient. True independence is the only precious gift that you as a parent can actually give to your child. Most of the time, it is out of you own desire for materialistic pressures, or to be liked and sometimes fervently wish that your child may be spared of the things that you did not experience as a child and as an action you would want to do your best to give them nothing but the best of everything. As a result of your child feeling self-sufficient, they will feel confident enough to rise above any situation.

Get more compliance from your child.

By showing your feelings towards your child - Often times when you start to show compassion towards your child and reflecting back what or how they are feeling is helpful for gaining cooperation from your child. If your child argues, all you have to do is to repeat that rule over and over, as opposed you starting a debate with your child and as a result of doing this, you will gain more cooperation from your child. By using rewards - You can focus on your child's positive attitude instead of the negatives by trying to put a marble in a jar when ever your child starts doing something for the first time that you asked which in turn provides more cooperation from your child.

Common child and parent problems.

Most parents often think that they know better and having that mind set is the biggest part of the problem because parent actually don't always know what's better fro their child. There is no use in going back down your memory lane (your own school days) if you want to try to help your child with their homework, you'll just probably find yourself lost and unable to understand the child's homework, since all of the teaching methods have changed since your were last in school. Going out alone is just not an option for children any more. By taking interest, it will definitely encourage your own child to work harder and to maintain good behavior while at school.

Make memories with quality family time.

The following tips ensure that your family time will be stress free and will ensure that you will make your family memories last for a lifetime:

- After finding that your family is now beginning to enjoy the family quality time and are beginning to look forward to your family spending more time together, they may even ask that family dinners be extended. If your family want to spend more time together by extending night time dinners, then you will know for sure that indeed good memories are made. Always remember that it's important to always start small to make family changes. Your family will need time to adapt and to absorb this new family dinning time experience. It's better to make gradual routine changes as opposed to major drastic changes that will certainly bring about all kinds of objections amongst your family. If family bonding time begins your family members feel good then they are most likely to want to experience the family bonding time again so keep the conversation light, bubbly, happy, inspirational and upbeat for the whole family.
- Remember, it is very important to always keep positive and upbeat conversational topics. Talking about negative topics in the news or anything that is unpleasant should not be done while dining with your family members. Talking about negative topics while eating is rather quite unhealthy physically and emotionally. It is of utmost importance that you discuss serious issues together with your children some times but, that is inappropriate while dining together. Your goal is to produce long lasting good memories from these causal conversations over a family dinner and you want your family to look forward to spending more of these moments together.
